Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Tweeps React to Khanyi Mbau/Kudzai Mushonga Reunion
Khanyi Mbau and Kudzai Mushonga are back to loving it up after breaking up two months ago, but tweeps are (predictably) unimpressed.
Back in May, the homegrown actress and the Zimbabwean businessman/socialite unexpectedly called it quits on their two-year romance, which they flaunted like crazy to the masses via their socials from the luxurious comforts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The break-up, along with Mbau’s alleged control-freak tendencies, caused Mushonga to spiral into a deep depression.
“I had very minimal contact and communication with the outside world, and my mental health started falling apart,” he wrote in a letter that was obtained and posted online during this time.
“Each time I tried to step out, it disrupted the peace in my relationship, so I chose to stay home, and only went out when she was home with me and that was maybe after 4 [sic] months for a few weeks. I started losing my ability to communicate well with others socially.”
Fast-forward to the present day, and now Mbau and Mushonga are back to living their best “Decadent Dubai Dalliance for Days” fantasy – they both posted romantic snaps to their Instagrams (observe this one shared by entertainment blogger/gossipmonger Musa Khawula):
Scrumptious, no?
Over on Mzansi Twitter, peeps were trying to figure out how the heck Mushonga, the same guy who was wallowing alone in an abyss of despair after dating a control freak, is back with the same person who punted him there in the first place:
Money and simpage were considered factors behind the couple’s reunion:
@JosephMadumo1 is just here wondering how Mbau isn’t married yet and what this says about her “kind”:
@Wenzii_N chalked their reunion up to one thing – clout:
The rest just pointed out the dangers of these kind of relationships and reckoned it won’t end well for Mushonga (again):
While we’re all quick to make assumptions, we’re just hoping that Khanyi Mbau and Kudzai Mushonga really did work out their differences and are giving this relationship another proper chance, lest it all ends in tears again.
Or maybe there’s something in that Dubai water … something that tastes a bit like money, perhaps? Who knows!
